A BIT About Me
My name is Rhys Sellars, and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Games Development at SAE Institute Melbourne. I am Majoring in Game Design, however would like to look into further personal/academic study into Programming to further broaden my skill set, as well as making me a more attractive and useful asset in a team.
I have been an avid gamer my entire life, and as it stands currently own 19 game systems. I have a vast knowledge on retro games having played games from the majority of the older systems, and often draw inspiration from the gems of yesteryear. I also have vast interest in Speedrunning, having tried speedrunning several retro titles in the past. I find that speedrunning can be a valuable tool as a developer in making decisions and considerations when creating a title.
As of 2017, I began attending the annual 'Global Game Jam' event, and plan on participating on other month long jams where possible between study.

Career Goals
As it stands, I am striving to eventually have a Producer or Lead Designer role within a company. From a design perspective I would like to work primarily as a Character, Level and Scenario Designer, as well as a 2D artist. I enjoy working with other team members, and as it currently stands I have always worked in leadership roles which has always given me an edge in team and time management. I am somewhat of a Programmer/Designer hybrid as I have interest in the programming field and wish to further develop my skills in this area.
My key strengths currently are as follows:
-
Documentation (Game Design Documents/Level Design Documents/Character Design Documents/Project Plan Documents)
-
Project/Team Management/Time Management
-
Design (Art/Audio/Level)
-
Art - 2D painterly styles and Wacom drawing
